Thai Yoga Massage

Traditional Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient healing art, which works on 10 main energy lines to ensure optimum health and wellbeing. These energy lines are called Sip Sen in Thai, or Ten Sen, an energy line system through which the body's natural life force flows and for various reasons such as injuries, illness, etc our natural flow of energy can get trapped or blocked in the body which can in turn lead to physical and emotional dis-ease.   While we cannot physically see these energy lines we can touch upon them and through acupressure techniques on the Sen lines, in combination with gentle yoga stretches, energy blockages can be released thus enabling the body's own natural healing potential to be restored.

Each full treatment can take anything between 1 ½ -2 ½ hours and is practiced on a firm futon on the floor.  It is a fully clothed treatment that involves the therapist using his/her thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet to apply a combination of acupressure, gentle rocking and twisting, joint and spine mobilisation and assisted yoga stretches.   At the heart of this ancient technique is the compassionate intent of the practitioner cultivating a deeper level of awareness between him/herself and the client. This compassionate state of being is termed "metta", which translates as "loving kindness".
